I am using my life experiences, business expertise, and leadership skills to help address conditions that lead to violence, delinquency, drugs, and gangs while promoting education, personal pride, accomplishment, and self-esteem. The books, From the Barrio to the Board Room, with the curriculum From the Barrio to the Classroom, Graphic novel, Mi Barrio, and the Activity coloring book Little Barrio are demonstrating that dreams can be realized through education, determination, perseverance, and hard work. I endeavor to inspire and motivate others so they accept ownership of their education and acquire the social values to realize repeated success throughout their lives and contribute as effective mentors to others.

ABOUT
BRIDGING HEART
Inspired by her journey through the foster care system, Katina Green established Bridging Heart, a 501 c(3) non-profit organization, to help young adults newly emancipated from the foster care system- grow, thrive and find their footing before entering the “real world.”
More specifically, the organization provides shelter, access to resources including: medical care, counseling, education and career assistance; and a safe space for young adults to learn how to make healthy choices, and just breathe while figuring out their next steps.
“Figuring it out shouldn’t have to be a hardship or a struggle.
And unfortunately, that’s what most kids emancipated from the foster care system face.”
This is the motivating force behind Bridging Heart, and why Katina decided to establish Bridging Hearts. For her, being emancipated from foster care, also meant falling prey to sex trafficking, something a large percentage of girls fall victim to upon leaving the foster care system, because, like Katina, they have no real direction or guidance, and are often left vulnerable and more susceptible to the whims of others who don’t have their best interest at heart. . www.Bridgingheart.org
